Colossal Cave Stage Race

Warning: This event is going to be a logistical nightmare!!

Why? Because there are 3 stages in 2 days and I will not be able to make it to either on Saturday.

Racing starts at 7am for the TT. Most riders should be there at least by 6:30am to sign in and warm up well.

The Crit for juniors, also on Saturday, starts at 3:50pm so riders should be there to sign in and warm up by 3pm at the latest.

On Sunday, juniors start the road race at 6:45am along with Cat 5, and Cat 4 goes off at 9:45am out at Colossal Cave. All of this information can be found at azcycling.com

I will be going on Sunday and can drive 4 riders and 4 bikes. I will be meeting those who need a ride at the clubhouse ready to leave at 5:15am (ouch!) I completely recognize that these times are ludicrous but it is what it is.

So, I absolutely need to hear from everyone who will be racing this weekend to know if you/your parent can drive, when, how many people they can take, if you will need a ride, if you will meet us all out there, what your situation is, etc. We need a lot of help with transportation for this event, but recognize that not everyone is able to or may go straight there based on where they live. Whatever help we can get would be awesome.

Please respond folks so we can figure this mess out!! Thanks! Ignacio

I definitely need a ride!

I can take two riders and bikes in addition to Logan and his bike. Whoever rides with us can hang out at our house in between races to relax and such rather than figure out another drop off and pick up point for the afternoon crit.

Ignacio...any way that numbers can be picked up before the race on Saturday or is it all on Saturday.

Riders also need to be sure to have their licenses ready and their waiver signed. The waiver can easily be printed off the US cycling page.

Whoever goes in my car, I will shoot to be there an hour before the first racer is set to go so you get an ample warm up and we have enough time without freaking out to get numbers on and all that.

Actually, any one who needs a place "to be" in between the races on Saturday would be welcome to hang out at our house. I can feed you, etc...

I have the suv this wwekend and can drive kids and 4 bikes (nate's +3). I would like to depart the clubhouse by 615. This will get us to the TIME TRIALS by 7am (Tulio shows to be up first at 716; but he's riding with his parents I assume) IF I GOT THIS TIME WRONG; I'LL CHECK BLOG TONIGHT.

So the question is: Who am I picking up at the clubhouse? (we'll bring trainers and bikes from there)

When all are done with time trials at about 10ish we will zip over to our house to relax and eat and return by 2pm for the 3:15 CRIT.

I'll have Cherish my daughter, and Nathan but there are still 5 seats in the car.

For Sunday: we can talk about it sat (I will be driveing sunday too...)

Whew, crazy, good thing I get to rest NEXT weekend and ride my bike! (Cyclovia and swapmeet)
Then its more logistics for the Prescott MTB race the following weekend! (Natcho: hows that trailer looking?)

I won't be able to watch/make sugary things on Saturday so hope y'all have fun. Nacho: what do you want those that aren't racing to do on Sunday?

Rachel, Nathan's dad will most likely have room in his car for you. Will need to find out where to carry your bike though. We are LEAVING the clubhouse at 615am.

Everyone...no matter which car you are in, you are invited to hang out at Logan and my house in between the morning and afternoon race. I'll make a boatload of pasta and salad.

My number is 245-6711
Drivers are Mark, Dean and Kathleen

Nacho,
I can borrow Justin's truck if we run into transportation problems. I'd like to get out to the races early this weekend to help out as much as possible - just let me know what I can do. Also, should we go pick up numbers during practice today? It's not that far out of the way...

Packet p/u at Barrio Brewing from 4 - 6 PM on Friday is highly recommended to allow everyone to focus on race prep Saturday morning. Regardless of where you p/up the race packet, you'll need your signed release form and license.I will be leaving Stone & Limberlost just before 6 AM on Saturday with 3 bikes/riders (Avery, Max, me), picking up Alex + bike en route. I can take a couple more riders, no more bikes. I'd be happy to help out with warm ups for the TT/crit, etc. - just let me know what's needed. A safe and fun weekend to all! Nelson

I agree with Nelson, it would be great to pick up the race numbers before tomorrow and I have everyone's license. Those of you who can get a copy of your signed release either to our house (Logan is home all day) or to the clubhouse by 5pm today, I'd be happy to go pick up your race numbers. Call me directly so I know if you are delivering a release today to either place so I know to look for it.
My cell: 245-6711.
Thanks,
K

Mark,
I'm gonna be there by 605 so we can LEAVE at 615.....I may take 3 trainers with me.....Logan, Pablo and Kramer will be with me. I think we should be prepared to leave at or before 615...if we get down south well before 7, we can take Rita road. We have to allow 15-20 minutes to check in, get numbers, set up trainers etc. and a full 30 minutes for warmup... Dean is picking up Donovan and Lizzy on the way and will not be coming to the clubhouse.

I have two jackets in my car I failed to leave at the clubhouse sun after unpacking: Donavan's and another one which is blue.

I'll send em with nathan to drop at the clubhouse this week.

(Great Racing and a fun event! Good job Team)
